ClickGuardian for WordPress
The official ClickGuardian plugin connects your WordPress site to your click fraud protection in minutes. Install it, paste your Project ID, and every ad click that lands on your site starts feeding the detection engine. No theme editing, no header code.
From Install to Protected in Three Steps
Everything happens inside wp-admin. You never touch your theme files or paste code into a header.
Install the Plugin
In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins, then Add New, and search for ClickGuardian. You can also download it directly from the ClickGuardian listing on WordPress.org. Click Install, then Activate.
Paste Your Project ID
Open the plugin settings and paste the Project ID from your ClickGuardian dashboard. It is a single field, and the ID always starts with proj_. That is the entire configuration.
Click Test Connection
Press Test connection and the plugin confirms your site is talking to ClickGuardian. From that moment, ad clicks landing on your WordPress site are analysed for fraud.
Built Small, Built for WordPress
Everything you need to feed clean, complete signals to your fraud protection, and nothing that weighs your site down.
One-Field Setup
Your Project ID is the only required setting. Paste it, test the connection, done.
Master Tracking Switch
Pause or resume tracking site-wide with one toggle. Handy for staging copies and maintenance windows.
Form & Lead Signals
Detects lead and form activity, with built-in integrations for Gravity Forms, WPForms and Contact Form 7.
Role Exclusions
Keep logged-in administrators, editors or any other role you choose out of your traffic data.
Path Exclusions
Exclude URL paths from tracking with wildcard patterns, so test and utility pages stay out of your numbers.
Regional Ingest
Choose EU, US or Global ingest so visitor signals are received in the region that suits your setup.
Lightweight Script
Loads asynchronously and weighs under 15 KB gzipped, so your pages keep their speed.
Cookieless by Design
Uses sessionStorage only. No cookies are set on your visitors, ever.
What Happens Once You Connect
The plugin handles the signals on your site. The heavy lifting, scoring and blocking, happens in your ClickGuardian account.
On Your WordPress Site
- The async script records visits and session behaviour
- Form and lead events are captured from your form plugins
- Excluded roles and paths never enter your data
- Signals stream to your chosen ingest region
In Your ClickGuardian Account
- Every click is scored against 100+ fraud signals
- Fraudulent sources are blocked from your Google Ads campaigns automatically, in real time
- Microsoft Ads campaigns are covered too
- Your dashboard shows every flagged click and why
The plugin plugs your site into the same detection engine behind our click fraud protection feature set: device fingerprinting, behavioural analysis and cross-network intelligence, all working on the traffic your WordPress site receives.
The Plugin Is Free. So Is Your First Week.
The WordPress plugin costs nothing. Fraud detection runs on your ClickGuardian plan, from $49/mo, and every plan starts with a 7-day free trial (card required). Cancel anytime.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. The plugin is the on-site half of the system: it collects visitor and form signals from your WordPress site, while your ClickGuardian account scores every click and blocks the fraudulent sources. Plans start at $49 per month and every plan begins with a 7-day free trial (card required). See our pricing page for the full breakdown.
No. The tracking script keeps what it needs in sessionStorage, which the browser clears when the tab closes. It sets no cookies at all and does no cross-site tracking.
No. The script loads asynchronously so it never blocks rendering, and it weighs under 15 KB gzipped, a fraction of a typical hero image. It also behaves well alongside page caching plugins and Cloudflare.
The plugin ships with dedicated lead detection for Gravity Forms, WPForms and Contact Form 7. If you use a different form tool, click protection itself still works normally; the form integrations simply add lead quality signals on top.
Generally not for fraud prevention. The tracker is cookieless, and fraud prevention is recognised as a legitimate interest under GDPR (Article 6(1)(f), Recital 47), so consent banners are generally not required for it. Every site handles data a little differently though, so consult your DPO if you are unsure.
Your Project ID starts with proj_ and is shown in your ClickGuardian dashboard. Copy it, paste it into the plugin's single settings field in wp-admin, and click Test connection to confirm your site is linked.
