Best Automotive PPC Agencies UK (2026): 7 Dealer Specialists Compared
Table of contents
The best automotive PPC agency for your dealership depends on whether you want an automotive-only specialist, a search agency with a dealer division, or a generalist that publishes real automotive work. Seven UK agencies are compared below on how much of their business is automotive, whether they can run Google Vehicle Ads, and what they say about tracking a click through to a sold car. Automotive clicks look cheap next to legal or finance, from roughly 15p on stock searches up to about £5.00 on car finance terms (Ahrefs UK data, September 2026), but the volumes are enormous: “car finance” alone is searched 71,000 times a month in the UK and “used cars” another 54,000. At that scale, small percentages of wasted spend become large numbers.

Disclosure
ClickGuardian publishes this list and ClickGuardian is not an agency. We make click fraud protection software, which means we do not compete with anybody named below and we cannot run your Vehicle Ads for you. No agency paid for placement, no agency was told it would appear, and there are no affiliate arrangements behind any link on this page. Several of these agencies are the sort of business that ends up using tools like ours on behalf of dealer clients, which is a relationship worth naming openly rather than leaving for you to discover.
Every agency was verified live in September 2026: the website resolves, the automotive pages described below exist, and the descriptions reflect what each agency publishes about itself rather than our opinion of their work. We have not audited anybody’s results and we are not in a position to. Ordering runs from most automotive-specific to most general and is not a quality ranking.
How we selected these agencies
Four criteria, applied to UK agencies visibly working with automotive businesses. One automotive-only PPC shop that appears high in the search results was excluded after the live check found its blog overrun with injected casino spam. If an agency cannot keep intruders out of its own website, it should not be trusted with your ad account.
Automotive focus. Whether the agency works exclusively with automotive businesses, runs a defined automotive division, or serves automotive among many sectors. All three models work. They fail differently, and the difference shows up fastest when your stock feed breaks on a Friday afternoon.
Published dealer PPC work. Whether the agency publishes pages about dealership Google Ads specifically, rather than a generic services page with a car brand in the logo strip. An agency that has written about feed management for Performance Max has thought about feed management for Performance Max.
Vehicle Ads capability. Google Vehicle Ads pull your live stock into search results and are reshaping how dealers buy traffic. Feed setup, Merchant Centre approval, and VIN-level errors are their own discipline, so we note where an agency publishes real Vehicle Ads material rather than just the phrase.
Google Partner status where held. Partner and Premier Partner status reflects certification and managed spend thresholds rather than quality of work. It is a floor, not a recommendation, and it is noted only where the agency publishes it.
The 7 automotive PPC agencies
1. Click Dealer
Website: clickdealer.co.uk
Click Dealer describes ClickPPC as a specialist automotive PPC service and works with dealerships and nothing else. PPC sits inside a wider dealer platform that includes ClickWeb dealer websites, a DMS, finance integrations, and stock sourcing tools, and the company publishes Google Partner status with an in-house team running Google and Bing campaigns. Its stated pitch is full-journey visibility: when a dealer runs the website, DMS, and marketing through one platform, a click can be tracked through to the sale rather than stopping at the enquiry. Conversion and call tracking plus new account setup or cleanup of an existing account are included in the published offer.
2. Driven Marketing Agency
Website: drivenmarketing.agency
Driven Marketing is a Worcester agency founded by the owners of detailing brand Pyramid Car Care, and it works only with automotive businesses. Its published client base of 30 plus automotive companies over the past two to three years leans towards the aftermarket, covering detailers, PPF installers, wrappers, tuners, and remappers as well as dealerships, which makes it the natural fit on this list if your business services or improves cars rather than retails them. The offer spans Google Ads, Meta Ads, SEO, and web design, with Google Partner status published and case studies quoting specific outcomes, including an 800 per cent return on investment for a detailing client.
3. Honcho
Website: honchosearch.com
Honcho is a Hertfordshire search agency whose automotive division states that over 150 UK dealerships trust it, with published clients including Pentagon Motor Group, Group 1 Automotive, Dick Lovett, and Renault Retail. It has worked in the automotive sector since 2016, runs inventory-led campaigns through its own SMARTFeed technology, and publishes Google Premier Partner status with a claim of sitting in the top 3 per cent of UK agencies. The offer joins PPC with SEO, paid social, and digital PR, which suits dealer groups managing multiple locations and brands, and its automotive case studies have won UK Search Awards.
4. Limelight Digital
Website: limelightdigital.co.uk
Limelight Digital is a Loughborough agency publishing both Google Premier Partner and Bing accreditation, with an automotive roster that includes Motorpoint, Cargiant, Sandicliffe, Peter Vardy, and Saxton 4x4. Its Vehicle Ads page dates from the format’s UK launch period, when the agency states it had early access as one of the few certified Google Trusted Partners, and it publishes detailed material on running Vehicle Ads through Performance Max, including feed setup in Merchant Centre and the difference in cost per click against standard search ads. That depth on the format most dealers now need is the reason it is here despite serving other sectors too.
5. Chameleon Web Services
Website: chameleon.co.uk
Chameleon Web Services is a Birmingham agency trading since 2001 with a dedicated car dealer marketing page built around a clear argument: dealers should own their enquiry pipeline rather than rent it from the marketplaces. Its published material covers Google Vehicle Ads onboarding end to end, from Merchant Centre verification and feed structure through to fixing “Needs Attention” warnings and VIN errors, and it names the dealer systems it integrates with, including Starkwood, Car Dealer 5, Dragon2000, and MotorDesk. Google Partner status is published, and PPC sits alongside SEO and dealer website work rather than standing alone.
6. Wired Media
Website: wiredmedia.co.uk
Wired Media is a multi-sector UK PPC agency with a dedicated automotive PPC page covering dealerships, repair shops, and parts retailers. The published offer runs across search campaigns, Shopping, display, remarketing, and paid social, with sector pages for around a dozen other industries alongside automotive. The trade-off is the usual one with a strong generalist: channel depth is high and the agency has written specifically about search campaign structure for automotive accounts, while automotive is one sector among many rather than the whole business.
7. Cloudswitched
Website: cloudswitched.com
Cloudswitched is a City of London IT company that also runs Google Ads for dealerships, which is an unusual combination that cuts both ways. Its automotive page covers Vehicle Listing Ads, campaign structures split by make, model, and new versus used stock, and showroom visit tracking that counts calls and direction requests rather than just form fills. Fees are published as fixed rather than a percentage of spend, agreements are month to month, and the firm’s IT heritage shows in its familiarity with dealer systems such as Keyloop and Pinewood. It is the most general business on this list, but a dealer wanting tracking plumbed in properly will find that the pitch here.
What to ask an automotive PPC agency before signing
Six questions. The answers separate agencies that have run dealer accounts from agencies that would like to.
- Who manages the stock feed, and what happens when it breaks? Vehicle Ads live or die on the feed. A specific answer names Merchant Centre, explains how sold vehicles come off the ads, and tells you how quickly feed errors are caught. An agency that has never fixed a VIN mismatch will learn on your budget.
- Show me a search terms report from a dealer account. Redacted is fine. You are looking for evidence they have hunted the queries that quietly eat dealer budgets: job seekers, DIY repair searches, parts numbers, and people researching cars they will buy privately.
- How many negative keywords will the account have after month one? Automotive attracts an unusual volume of near-miss traffic, from “free car check” to model names shared with films and songs. A thin negative list on a dealer account means the pruning has not started.
- How do you report invalid traffic and wasted spend? This is the question most often answered badly. An agency saying “Google handles it” is describing a partial, retrospective filter, not a report. Across the accounts ClickGuardian tracks, about 29 per cent of paid clicks are invalid, and one commercial vehicle dealer we protect puts roughly 200,000 paid clicks a month through our system. At dealer volumes, a percentage nobody measures is a five-figure annual leak.
- What are you tracking as a conversion? Calls, forms, direction requests, and showroom visits must be tracked separately, with a call duration threshold so misdials do not inflate the enquiry count. If the answer is thank-you page views, the reporting you receive will overstate performance.
- Who owns the Google Ads and Merchant Centre accounts? Yours, in your billing, with the agency granted access. Accounts built inside an agency’s own manager account can leave with the agency, and the feed history and conversion data are the parts that took months to earn.
The same live-checked format exists for two other verticals: the best law firm PPC agencies UK, where the invalid-traffic question matters even more at up to £18.00 a click, and the best B2B PPC agencies UK for industrial and manufacturing buyers.
Frequently asked questions
How much does an automotive PPC agency cost in the UK?
Agencies price either as a monthly retainer, a percentage of ad spend commonly in the region of 10 to 20 per cent, or occasionally as a fixed fee. What matters more than the model is the ratio: on a £10,000 monthly stock budget a 15 per cent fee is £1,500, so the agency needs to find more than £1,500 a month in improvement before it pays for itself. Dealers running smaller service and MOT budgets often do better on a fixed retainer with a defined scope, because a percentage of a small spend rarely buys enough hours to matter.
Should a dealership hire an automotive specialist or a general PPC agency?
For franchised and independent dealers selling stock, specialisation usually wins, because the work is dominated by things generalists rarely touch: vehicle feeds, Merchant Centre approval, Vehicle Ads through Performance Max, and pricing rules that change with the forecourt. A general agency with a strong PPC team is workable for service, parts, and aftermarket businesses, where campaigns look more like standard local lead generation and the feed problem does not exist.
Is ClickGuardian an automotive PPC agency?
No. ClickGuardian is a click fraud protection tool for Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising, starting at $49 a month with a 7 day free trial. We do not manage ad accounts and we do not take a percentage of spend. Dealerships typically run click fraud protection alongside whichever agency manages their campaigns, and agencies frequently run it across their whole client book. We operate a white-label programme for agencies that want to report protected traffic under their own brand, which is documented on our partners page.
What should a dealership expect a PPC agency to report monthly?
At minimum: spend, clicks, cost per click split by stock and aftersales campaigns, enquiries split between calls, forms, and direction requests, cost per enquiry, and cost per sold unit where your DMS can supply it. Add two lines most reports omit: the search terms that consumed the most budget without producing an enquiry, and the share of clicks judged invalid. A report that shows only impressions, clicks, and click-through rate is describing activity rather than outcomes.
Do I need Google Vehicle Ads?
If you retail cars, almost certainly. Vehicle Ads place your live stock, with price, mileage, and location, at the top of the results page and send the click to your own vehicle page rather than a marketplace listing. They typically cost less per click than standard search ads and they are the closest thing Google has built to a direct alternative to the classified platforms. The catch is operational: they require a maintained vehicle feed, a compliant website, and Merchant Centre approval, which is why feed capability is a selection criterion in the list above.
